Autumn Markets in Southwest Mallorca
One of the undeniable charms of autumn in Mallorca are the markets and street fairs held every week in towns across the island. From Mon Port Hotel & Spa, we'd like to highlight the markets of nearby villages such as Andratx, Calvià, Peguera, and Sant Elm. They are authentic windows into the most local side of Mallorca: the farmers, fishermen, and artisans who keep centuries-old traditions alive.
Mercat d'Andratx: the heart of the valley
Every Wednesday morning, the center of Andratx transforms with its weekly market. Here you'll find everything from seasonal fruits and vegetables —pomegranates, almonds, quinces— to fresh fish straight from the port.
Stalls with clothing, footwear, and flowers complete the offer of a market that continues to be a meeting point for local residents. Strolling along its cobbled streets and finishing with a coffee on a terrace is one of the most authentic autumn experiences in the southwest.

Mercat de Calvià: agricultural tradition
On Mondays, it's Calvià's turn, with a smaller market that is nonetheless very authentic. The majority of stalls belong to local farmers who sell their produce directly: olives, new olive oil, honey, and aromatic herbs.
For those seeking a quieter atmosphere, it is the perfect place to discover the agricultural heartbeat of the island. The market also includes textiles and small everyday goods, making it a space closely tied to the daily life of residents.
Mercat de Peguera: color and crafts
On Tuesdays and Thursdays, the lively town of Peguera hosts its market, popular with both locals and visitors. Its stalls offer a mix of gastronomic products —cheeses, cured meats, dried fruits— and crafts, such as ceramics and leather goods.
The atmosphere is cosmopolitan yet retains a Mediterranean essence, making it an ideal plan for those who want to combine shopping with a stroll along the town's seafront promenade.
Sant Elm: maritime charm
Although more seasonal and extending into autumn, the Sant Elm market deserves a special mention. This small fishing village, with views of the island of Sa Dragonera, celebrates its Saturday market, where stalls showcase marine-related products and local crafts.
The setting makes it one of the most picturesque markets in the southwest: perfect for ending your visit with a meal by the sea.
Seasonal flavors
Beyond each market, Mallorcan autumn is recognized through its seasonal products. October is the season of mushrooms (esclata-sangs), freshly harvested almonds, pomegranates, and dried figs. These ingredients are part of both traditional home cooking and the most innovative gastronomic proposals.
Visiting the markets is a way of taking home a piece of this essence, whether it's an artisanal sweet, a bottle of local olive oil, or a handmade souvenir.
Mon Port, your starting point
