Christmas has kicked off family gatherings, strolls with friends, and storefronts adorned with details. It's also the season for plans unique to this time of year.
In Mallorca, where snow is a rare sight, the introduction of the ice rink in Palma during the holiday season sparked great excitement.
Over the years, ice skating enthusiasts have multiplied, eagerly anticipating the chance to indulge in this high-speed, moderately risky activity, with the occasional spectacular fall among friends or family.
At Plaza de España in Palma, Ice Park welcomes visitors every day from 10:00 to 22:00. All you need is warmly layered clothing while waiting for your turn. They provide the ice skates, and it's up to the brave and the skillful to glide around the rink.
In Porto Adriano, a vast 300-square-meter ecological ice rink delights both children and adults from December 22 to January 8 in the central square. The activity is free, and the rink is open daily, catering to almost the entire family, including children aged four and above.
The square also hosts one of the island's largest Christmas markets, featuring a massive three-meter-high, thirty-meter-long slide suitable for brave souls of all ages.
Son Amar also boasts an ice skating rink, but this time, you won't need as many layers as it's made of synthetic ice. Situated outdoors, this rink is open to children of all ages and adults.
Amid the excitement of Santa Claus or the Three Wise Men's arrival, family commitments, and days off, children need ways to keep themselves entertained.
In Palma, attractions and game parks are scattered throughout the city, from Plaza de España to Santa Pagesa, Parque de las Estaciones, Miquel Dolç, and Plaza del Mercat. These locations offer entertaining spaces to make Christmas mornings or afternoons more enjoyable when there are no pressing errands.
In Calviá, Neula Parc returns with similar objectives, featuring workshops, inflatable castles, jumping mats, and musical performances. It sets up shop at the Municipal Pavilion of Galatzó, with an exterior tent dedicated to the little ones.
And let's not forget, during these days, Santa Claus is keeping watch on every corner. You can catch a glimpse of him at El Corte Inglés in Palma, Port Adriano, or roaming the streets of any town.
Maintaining tradition and their usual schedule, the Three Wise Men will arrive in Mallorca on January 5, staying for just a day to distribute gifts to the well-behaved children of the year.
